Me: Wow. They must really hate Jeep Cherokees on this show. That’s like the fourth one they’ve destroyed.
Wife: It’s probably because they’re really cheap.

Here’s a strange obsession of mine:
When I was a kid, Smokey and the Bandit was on TV. My dad said “Well, it’s pretty obvious that Pontiac sponsored this movie.”
“How can you tell, dad?” said little me.
“Because all the cars are Pontiacs. Not just the Trans Am, but the sheriff’s car and all the Georgia State Patrol cars. If almost all the cars with any camera time came from one company, you can bet that that company paid for them to be there.”
I’ve spent the last thirty-some-odd years trying to figure out which car company was paying for product placement in whichever movie I’m watching. 😉
