Things that don’t make sense

Just got my car insurance renewal in the mail.

Despite my car going down in value, no tickets, and no accidents, premiums went up 18%.

So, recommendations that aren’t State Farm, Progressive, or Travelers?

I really, really hate shopping for insurance.

21st Century is what we have. Best rates. USAA is usually pretty good, but for some reason they were the highest for me. Even the sales lady had to call me back as she ran the numbers again because she couldn’t believe they were higher than anyone else (and I too, have a perfectly clean record).

I’ve been happy with Geico so far, but I can’t speak for how they handle claims, either, since I’ve never had to file one (*knocks on wood*).

Les Jones recommends Amica. I don’t know anything about them but he seems to really like them.

Electric Insurance. Originally established to write personal lines for GE employees. No advertising – all referrals business model. I’ve been with them 14 years(I’ve long since left GE).

I’ve had good luck with Liberty Mutual and if you qualify, USAA has excellent rates and customer service.

State Farm tried that one me once. I called my agent and said I’m not paying the increase. I said something to the effect of: ‘If this is the new rate, you’re fired. Cancel my policy at the end of this month. I’ll have another carrier by then’ They called a day later and said the would not up the rates.

I use triple AAA now, bundled with life and home for about a 15% discount.

Sounds like required redistribution of wealth to me. You’re paying for someone else’s damage. Hmmmmm, hope and change at it’s best.

The wife and I bundled our 3 cars and our house together with Country Financial and it literally cut the insurance costs on my two pickups in HALF. Not bad!

We have 3 cars and a motorcycle with Geico, and it’s been pretty consistently cheap. Had one claim and it went perfectly smoothly, the rep did all the work for me except taking the Jeep to the shop.

Sorry, I don’t go places that have a corporate policy of killing me. Turned in my membership last year.
