That’s how long since I ordered my suppressor from Gemtech. Just got a voice mail from my dealer saying that it has been delivered to their shop.
Now I get to fill out the paperwork. Saturday will be the earliest that I can get there with my trust paperwork, and it will be 4-12 weeks after that before I can take it home with me.
All for a safety device.

Yeah, good luck with that. I am 12 weeks into the wait for my permission stamp from our friends at the ATF. My dealer says that, based on others that he’s gotten back recently, I’ve got another 30 days or so to wait.
I hear that using a trust greatly reduces wait times.
Unfortunately, I am at the 3.5 month mark right now, with a trust, and no sign of a stamp.
I’m currently at approx 4 months on my wait for a permission slip from the ATF to chop a couple inches off my rifle barrel. Form mailed 6/7/11, Check cashed 6/22/11, application went Pending 6/28/11. This is for a Form 1 on a trust. Check NFAtracker.org and you can start getting a good idea of what the current wait times are. I’d expect mine to be approved pretty soon but you never know.
My first suppressor took 13 months from order placed to in my hands. 4 of those months were waiting on ATF, the rest, manufacture to dealer transfer.
With NFA items, patience is most definitely a virtue.
A guy just walked in here who has been waiting 1 year and 4 months for his transfer to go through (first transfer, moved here from China but completed immigration over a decade ago) who waited for another guy whose transfer took about six weeks.
Note also that the entire process just changed. Whereas in the past Class III FFLs were assigned a random examiner now examiners are assigned by state so going through the same FFL could bring different results than even six months ago.
If it took much longer you wouldn’t need a silencer as partial deafness in old age is almost a certainty…
We’re working on an NFA trust right now… a good, but not necessarily inexpensive experience…
