I was perusing Amazon for something, and I came across this
What is that, you ask? It’s proof that there are no limits to the stupidity of mall ninjary.
That, my friends, is a “tire deflator” that is threaded 1/2-28, and is meant to attach to the muzzle of your AR. Because what everyone really needs on the end of a rifle is something that will poke holes.
Here’s what it looks like attached:
Please, if you buy one of these, just forget you ever had a rifle in the first place.
If you want to deflate someone’s tire, pull out the tire stem. Pliers make it easier. There’s no danger of a catastrophic blowout, so it’s safer for you.
Just what I need. An AR-15 with a hypodermic needle on it. My range will have to put in a SHARPS box.
I don’t see why having the deflater at the end of your gun would do. how is it better than keeping your rifle up and knifing it with your support hand?
Wouldn’t a bayonet work just as well?

They’ve re-invented the plug bayonet!!!
Originally intended for SWAT teams, to disable getaway vehicles, IIRC. Also makes the vehicle harder to shove out of the way with ANOTHER vehicle, due to the increased friction. All without requiring you to take a hand off your rifle.
Eh, whatever.
However, for law abiding civilians? Totally worthless. Unless you need to tactically tap some maple trees or something. . . but hey, it’s your money, Sparky.
BTW, it neither threads on to the flash hider threads (it goes OVER the flash hider), nor does it obstruct the bore.
It’s still a dumb idea, mind you, even for SWAT cops.
What would be the right bullet for an all season Michelin? Maybe 62 gr. penetrator for ten-ply truck tires?
Faster or slower twist for bias ply tires?
I dunno, it’s all so cornfuzing!

I’m more concerned that the rifle doesn’t have a rear sight…
They just attached the device to a handy rifle. Not selling rear sights in that posting, only the muzzle device.
Did some more research. Original RFP was based on a need for the #2 man at a vehicular checkpoint in high terrorist threat areas, in case the driver decided to gun through the barrier after being flagged for full inspection. No time to pull out a handheld deflator, no desire to send bullets bouncing into adjacent cars or guards, need for instant response that will disable the vehicle in a reasonably short time.
Of course, a permanent checkpoint under those circumstances should have a spike plate that only lowers after the car is cleared to proceed, but the cost can add up. . .
