  • How 2A are you?

I think this should answer that question.

  • I Can Stop Anytime I Want!

I Can Stop Anytime I Want!

I think I paid less for any of these guns than I did the knife that’s currently in my pocket….

  • quickie

Stopped at Academy on the way home. I can tell you that the reports of there being no ammo on the shelf is over blown. They had plenty of… 38S&W.

I might stop by tomorrow and grab a couple boxes for my Enfield revolver.

  • A Little Advice

If you’ve got a table at the local gun show, and you’re trying to sell a Cobra Denali 380, maybe you should charge less than $400 for it.

Seriously. I’ve seen this guy trying to sell that thing for $400 at the last few gun shows I’ve been to.

Here’s the kicker: the guy is also selling some older guns that I’d be interested in, but seeing an asking of 4 times the actual value of that gun has made me deeply suspect of the prices on the rest of the stuff.

  • Are You Freaking Kidding Me?!

About a year ago, some poor slob in Rio de Janiero decided that it would be a good idea to use a fake gun to rob a girl that was standing on the street corner waiting for an Uber to show up.

Unfortunately for him, that girl happened to be pro MMA fighter Polyana Viana. She responded with two punches and a kick, which, going by the pictures, broke his face. She then put him in a sleeper hold for good measure, and waited for the cops to arrive.

Sounds like a happy ending, right?

Apparently, not to a reporter at CNN.

According to the article, she’s received a good bit of criticism over it. Of course, he also calls her act of self-defense “her moment of vigilantism,” and that she “took the law into her own hands.”

It’s called self-defense, you simpering twit! Clearly, the author would much rather criminals take whatever the hell they want and never face the consequences of poor victim selection.

  • A Mystery Box Arrived

I came home tonight to find a suspiciously shaped package in the mail.

    Well, it’s not ticking…

JB Tool Sales… I think I’ve ordered from them before, but not recently. I’ve been good, and not ordered a new knife since Thanksgiving! Promise!

So… I open the package, and see familiar art work….

Sure sign that this way leads to madness.

I laugh at the back stating the I should “ask my local retailers about other quality Z-Hunter products.” After all, this would require them to *have* quality products.

I open the box, and see what madness lurks inside.

This is where the mindless giggling begins

“Apocalypse Survivor” medallion with a bio-hazard symbol on it. Claw marks? Seat belt cutter that wont cut paper! And the profile of a demon skull with fangs! Wait. Is that a lanyard hole on the flipper tab? Oh! Wait! I’ve seen this on some “super heavy duty” knives, It’s for sticking a pin or paperclip, or something through to act as a safety! Oh, and I think that nub on the end is supposed to be a glass breaker made out of the same soft steel as the liner.

Well, only thing left to do is open it up….

    Ph’nglui mglw’nafh Cthulhu R’lyeh wgah’nagl fhtan!

    BWAHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Oh god… those serrations…. and the tiny green hand prints….

    Ia! Ia! Cthulhu fhtagn!

To the mystery man that sent this to me, I hope you’re proud of yourself.

    Merry Christmas, you filthy animals.

  • Overheard at the Gun Show

Help. Seriously thinking about dropping $250 on an R51.

I will delete your account on the blog.

Hey, it’s not like I was looking at the guy selling one for $320.

Imagine the guy that *pays* $320.

Well, I can still post here, so I guess you guys know I didn’t buy the gun.

  • This is Truly a Strange Timeline

Went to the local gun show today with Wizard. We saw folks selling Mosin-Nagant 91/30s for the same price as AR-15s ($375). Wasn’t that long ago that the Mosin would be $100 and a stock AR would be at least $800.

My first firearm purchase was a Mosin m39 (examples of which have recently sold on GunBroker for $700!). I still have it, like it, and will probably never sell it, but… I sure as heck wouldn’t have bought it if I could have bought an AR for the same price.

Heck, a little while ago, I bought a Ruger American Predator *with scope* that shoots rings around that Mosin for less than $700. And it shoot .308, which can be picked up at the local Walmart in multiple loadings.

I will say that there’s still something about the old milsurp rifles, but the days of picking them up for cheap are, sadly, behind us.

  • I… got nothing

So… Friday, the Murfreesboro office of the state Republican Party had a bomb scare. As in, they found a box with some modeling clay, a walkie-talkie and some wires in it with a note.

The note warned against any “unconstitutional gun control in this state, or there will be blood.”

Now, I’ve had my issues with the current crop of state level Republican politicians, but… uh… there really hasn’t been any anti-gun legislation passed here in a while, and I believe that the state legislature is currently not in session. I’ll grant you that they haven’t followed through with their promises to the pro-gun rights folks that voted them in office, but they haven’t exactly gone full gun-banner either.

And, well, doing this only makes pro-gun folks look crazy, and isn’t helping.

Wait. Has anyone heard from Kwikrnu? He lives in the area.

  • And That’s Why I Carry

Apparently, I never made a post about the attempted mass shooting at a church literally around the corner from me back in 2017. At least the member of the congregation was able to hold the asshole until the cops arrived. Unlike the shooting at the Waffle House near me in 2018, where they didn’t catch for over a day, and the cops banged on my door looking for him.

I live in an otherwise quiet part of town, I swear.

Anyways, apparently, the church shooter is currently on trial, and the prosecution has submitted into evidence a note found in his car. It stated why he did it and what he was planning on doing. Namely, that shooting this church was in retaliation for the shooting up of a black church in South Carolina, and that he was planning on killing “at least 10 white church goers.

Now… I don’t go to that church, but they are my neighbors. Do you really think that would have stopped him had he come across me after fleeing?

Like I said, I do actually live in a fairly quiet neighborhood, but I think I’ll keep armed, keep my head on a swivel, and… it’s been a couple years since I’ve taken a trauma class… I should sign up for another.
