I also have a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B006Z07JTE\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=390957&#038;creativeASIN=B006Z07JTE&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;tag=gucaante-20\">Nikon P-223 3&#215;32 BDC Carbine<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=gucaante-20&#038;l=as2&#038;o=1&#038;a=B006Z07JTE\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" \/> in some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B004HIHQLM\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=390957&#038;creativeASIN=B004HIHQLM&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;tag=gucaante-20\">$20 QD rings<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=gucaante-20&#038;l=as2&#038;o=1&#038;a=B004HIHQLM\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" \/>*<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gunscarstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/IMG_3693.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gunscarstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/IMG_3693-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_3693\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3127\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>What I decided to do was take the cheapo QD rings off the P-223 scope and put them on the Sweet .22. Then I bought some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B0010LNKRI\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=390957&#038;creativeASIN=B0010LNKRI&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;tag=gucaante-20\">Burris XTR Rings<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=gucaante-20&#038;l=as2&#038;o=1&#038;a=B0010LNKRI\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" \/> for the P-223 on Farmdad&#8217;s recommendation. More on that later, as I&#8217;m playing musical gun parts with pretty much all my rifles right now.<\/p>\n<p>So here&#8217;s what I ended up with:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/gunscarstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/IMG_3696.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gunscarstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/IMG_3696-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_3696\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3130\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And here&#8217;s what it looks like all broken down:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/gunscarstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/IMG_3699.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gunscarstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/IMG_3699-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_3699\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3131\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>My next step is figuring out a way to put a bipod on it. I have <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B0035L35A8\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=390957&#038;creativeASIN=B0035L35A8&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;tag=gucaante-20\">this one<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=gucaante-20&#038;l=as2&#038;o=1&#038;a=B0035L35A8\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" \/>, which came with a mounting plate for the rifle stock, but since apparently this stock is hollow I&#8217;m not sure how that&#8217;s all going to work out. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B003BAAJVG\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=390957&#038;creativeASIN=B003BAAJVG&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;tag=gucaante-20\">This replacement barrel band<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=gucaante-20&#038;l=as2&#038;o=1&#038;a=B003BAAJVG\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" \/> gives me mixed feelings, and there&#8217;s a reviewer who says it doesn&#8217;t work with the takedown model.<\/p>\n<p>One more thing of note: The threading on the 10\/22 is a wee bit too long for the Gemtech Outback II-D&#8230;<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/gunscarstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/IMG_3695.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gunscarstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/IMG_3695-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_3695\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3129\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Gemtech&#8217;s specs say that the internal threading on the Outback II-D is 0.400&#8243; so I&#8217;ll need to use a spacer in order to avoid damaging the first baffle.<\/p>\n<p>*despite what the description says, those are Weaver rings, not Picatinny.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last week I showed off my new toy and had a decision to make about mounting my optics.
