Because I had already attached the heatsink to the processor, I had to wait until I got <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B001FVI91U\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=390957&#038;creativeASIN=B001FVI91U&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;tag=gucaante-20\">this kit from Arctic Silver<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=gucaante-20&#038;l=as2&#038;o=1&#038;a=B001FVI91U\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" \/> in the mail before I could swap out the boards.<\/p>\n<p>Swapped everything out, and VOILA! I have a bootable system.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, it appears that <a href=\"https:\/\/gunscarstech.com\/2012\/09\/24\/its-been-10-years-since-i-built-my-last-computer\/\">the hard drive that precipitated this new server build<\/a> is exhibiting the same behavior. Namely, I can see it in BIOS, and it boots to the &#8220;Repair Windows&#8221; thingy, but then isn&#8217;t recognized as a bootable device. I can access the data if I connect it to the external enclosure I bought, so my next thought is a format \/MBR.<\/p>\n<p>If that doesn&#8217;t work, then I&#8217;ll need to get an SSD.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Motherboard issues have been resolved, but not in anything resembling a good outcome.
