Not sure. In my research over the years I have come across some mighty stupid laws.<\/p>\n<p>I came across this one when researching leash laws. It&#8217;s a Class C Misdemeanor.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/law.justia.com\/codes\/tennessee\/2010\/title-55\/chapter-8\/55-8-179\/\">Tenn. Code Ann. \u00a7 55-8-179:<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>No person, unless totally or partially deaf, shall carry, hold, or use on any street, highway, or in any other public place, a leash blaze orange in color on any dog accompanying that person.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This one is stupid mostly because it&#8217;s completely unknown to regular people. Heck, my wife <i>works with the deaf<\/i> and didn&#8217;t know about this. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/University-Tennessee-Large-Dog-Leash\/dp\/B0038S6TJW\">This leash<\/a> is probably illegal, and I&#8217;m given to understand that there are a lot of people in this state who are UT fans.<\/p>\n<p>Really, what&#8217;s the point here? To alert drivers that there might be a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dogsforthedeaf.org\/hearing-dogs\">hearing dog<\/a> on the sidewalk? And why would that be useful information? It&#8217;s not like you&#8217;d have time to process &#8220;oh, that leash is blaze orange&#8221; before actually passing the deaf owner.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I might make this a feature.
