Certainly a better “gesture” than trying to ban my gun.

Plus, he reminds others of their duty to fight back, which will eventually lead them to wish they had better weapons than harsh language.

    Not idiotic at all.

People will fight for a symbol. One brave leader can inspire hundreds more.

    Good for him.

    I find it useful.

As an introduction; So Mr./Ms Gun Control Advocate; do you trust this man to stand at the door to your child’s school building?

If they say yes, then “Why won’t you trust him to stand there armed?”

His nature doesn’t change if he is armed.
