UNPOSSIBLE!

By | September 25, 2011

When restaurant carry was passed in Tennessee, The Beale Street Merchants Association banned guns from Beale Street:

Later this month, Beale Street will break out the hand-held metal detectors at the entrance points and use other security measures to keep guns out of the three-block area day and night.

And the fruit of that labor? Six people shot behind one of their clubs.

No word on whether they stopped frisking everyone who entered the area, but either way the Beale Street Merchants Association is headed for a lawsuit. A big one.

I bet a dollar she did not own that gun legally.

It’s funny how people who don’t obey the law don’t obey the law.

Living proof that “gun control” is self destructive at best, blantant conspiracy to commit murder in the middle, and domestic terrorism at worst.

FWIW, the channel 2 link to the communist appeal links to amazon.com where they are selling a Minnesota Vikings Car Flag. Good reporting. Really. Good reporting.

@disavowedwithhonor: That’s what happens when you use url shortening services like bit.ly. The services end up recycling or expiring after a little while. They’re great when you’re talking to someone in IRC or over IM, but using them for something more long term like blogs or online news articles is just dumb. Especially when you’re not actually showing the address and it’s just a hyperlink. I will say that this one was recycled rather quickly, which makes me wonder if it’s a case of a typo and the person who through in the link doesn’t understand the concept of copy and paste.

Sorry, one of my pet peeves.

So if they banned guns and somebody(ies) got shot there, is the BSMA on the hook for the injuried?

Well, the way the law is written it doesn’t matter if they ban guns or not. Liability isn’t affected by posting.

The problem they’re going to have is that by instituting those security measures, they imply they are responsible for security. If they had never bothered, then they would be less culpable in the public’s eye.
